We are Hedgehog: Spotlight on Head of Western Europe Rob Prohaska

Rob Prohaska is Hedgehog’s Head of Western Europe working out of the Amsterdam Campus.

How long have you been a Hedgehog?
I joined Hedgehog last April, so just about a year.

Besides Hedgehogs- what is your favorite animal?
Monkeys. I’ve always loved their curious nature learning more about them. Curious George was a childhood favourite of mine.

Tell us a little bit about your background working with Sitecore.
I worked for Sitecore for about five and a half years. I started working for Sitecore Australia in 2012 in Sydney as their Technical Director. I moved to London in 2014 to head up Services and Training for Sitecore UK and then looked after all EMEA for my last two and a half years with Sitecore. I have a lot of experience working with both Sitecore Customers and Partners to get the most out of the platform.

Sitecore Experience Day is coming up! What are you looking forward to?
Reconnecting with people across the Sitecore community. The Sitecore Community is the most passionate and dedicated group of developers I have come across. People are always willing to help one another to see the platform grow and succeed. I have made good friends across the globe.

Are there any presentations you are excited about?
I’m looking forward to hearing Mark Demeny talk about where Sitecore is with their Stylelabs integration and, of course, (former Hedgehog) Mike Shaw helping customers understand the impact of Personalisation.

What is a superpower you wish you had?
Super Healing – turning bad things good.

What places (cities, countries) have you lived in?
I grew up all over the United States and spent a few teenage years in London. I moved to Australia in 2001 and lived there for thirteen years before moving to Europe in 2014. I’ve been in Amsterdam for three years now. I still love being a part of Europe and traveling around the region.

Since Sitecore Experience Day is in London what is your must-see tourist attraction while there?
Besides the standard Top Lonely Planet picks, I'd recommend exploring some of the back streets of London. Shoreditch and Camden are great areas to explore and see street art, maybe even spot a Banksy. Food markets like Borough Market near London Bridge are great to wander around and sample local goodies before having a hand-pumped ale at a pub.

Tell me something people would be surprised to know about you.
My first paying job was working for Pinewood Studios as a child actor in a made for TV Movie.

What’s your candy weakness?
Nachos 😊

Rob will be attending Sitecore Experience Day on Wednesday, April 3 at Booth #12. You can also catch Rob at SUGCON with Jacqueline Baxter giving a 10 minute Avtor demo on Friday, April 5 at 11:55 AM. You can connect with Rob on Twitter or LinkedIn.
