It’s that time of year when everyone starts to reflect on growth and development. As Hedgehog gears up for 2019, CEO Dan Galvez talks about the exciting year Hedgehog had in 2018.
What was your favorite memory from 2018?
My favorite memory was seeing the Hedgehog team collaborate and support our clients with their GDPR needs. There was a lot to learn and do within a short period. Everyone did their best to pitch in.
Were there any major milestones?
There were many major milestones for Hedgehog. This year, we were able to grow and mature our MSP (Managed Service Provider) program. We released Avtor, the latest essential tool for Sitecore Content Entry teams. We established ourselves in the Benelux Region out of our Netherlands campus. We also saw great growth in our Product Enterprise deals, which signals that the Sitecore space is exceptionally healthy and is rapidly growing. As the year went on, we continued to have record breaking months for products and services in both North America and Europe.
Are there any product improvements/highlights?
We released Avtor which helps Sitecore Content Entry teams to cut their time in half when dealing with content editing. I love seeing the expression on people's faces when they have that "aha" moment during the Avtor demo.
What were Hedgehog’s biggest wins in 2018?
Earlier this year, we were recognized as a Sitecore Platinum Level Partner – the highest level in the Sitecore Partner Program. We won the W3 Gold Award for Best Website in the Healthcare and Services Categories for Catholic Health Services of Long Island. We were involved in a case study with Two Roads Hospitality showing our work in helping them build a multitenant Sitecore platform to enhance customer experience.
We’ve also had new additions to our Hedgehog family as some of our team had gotten married, and others welcome newborns.
Did anything happen in 2018 that came as a surprise?
There was a lot of change in 2018 due to many factors. The impact from political change, economic strength in certain industries, and new regulations and standards that affect both our clients and how we run Hedgehog. Leading a consultancy as diverse as Hedgehog, there is never a dull moment, but 2018 will go down in the books as an action-packed year.
Is there anything exciting happening in 2019?
2019 has two parts for us. We will be focusing on the internal tools and systems in order to perform our best for clients as we continue to grow. We are also planning to add on a number of new team members who bring in skills and capabilities that will continue to help clients view Hedgehog as their most trusted partner.
