Known for visionary brand strategy and creative thinking, Donald May helps clients of all sizes communicate effectively and grow exponentially. He’s been building brands, ideas, and experiences for the digital world for over 18 years.
A quick study, Donald brings diverse experience in strategic design and brand strategy to all his work. He began his career designing CD covers for bands at a major record label and went on to tackle numerous design specialties, including branding, advertising, packaging, and interactive. He’s been a designer and creative director at multiple large and small studios, an art director for a well-known advertising agency, a marketing director for a consumer-electronics company, and even an entrepreneur. In short, he’s done more than a little of just about everything.
Donald’s dual role as vice president and creative director at Hedgehog allows him to balance the strategic and tactical needs of clients with the creative desires of his team. The result is award-winning work that is creatively rich and remarkably effective. Recent projects include the redesign of four major online business units for Institutional Investor (Institutional Investor Magazine, IIJournals, IINewsletters—rebranded as II Intelligence—and iiSEARCHES), branding and design for a number of financial services and insurance firms, and designs for two major international product companies.
Through it all, Donald maintains a Zenlike attitude, embracing challenges, encouraging those around him, and always keeping an open mind.
