With over 20 years of experience as a professional developer, Charles Turano brings leading-edge products and projects to life at Hedgehog. Along with his colleague Sean Kearny, Charlie masterminded Hedgehog’s premier product Team Development for Sitecore (TDS). Originally designed as an internal tool to streamline the work of Hedgehog developers, TDS quickly took on a life of its own as a game-changer for building Sitecore websites. With the help of Sean, Charlie was able to create the first version of TDS in 2009, which soon gained ground as the standard way of building Sitecore implementations.
Crafting well-designed, high-performing, scalable, and maintainable websites is a not just a job for Charlie; it’s a passion. Starting with his first computer at age 12—a TRS-80 Model I with 16K of RAM—he was off and running. By 1998 he was building websites, and by 2007 he was working with Sitecore in his first year at Hedgehog. A wunderkind with a knack for grasping and explaining complex technical details with clarity and ease, Charlie has been a Sitecore MVP since 2014.
Along with TDS, Charlie has also created the Razl tool based on his experience troubleshooting Sitecore implementations. A door-opener that allows developers to examine a Sitecore implementation at a level of detail not previously available, Razl has proven to be an invaluable tool for many Sitecore implementers.
