Challenge

The online presence of II’s newsletters was in need of a major overhaul. Specifically, II wanted to develop a seamless, easy-to-use, consistent, and intuitive experience across all of the newsletters’ content-delivery channels. In addition, the publisher wanted to differentiate its online newsletters from its print offerings, so that the two were no longer duplicates, and there would be a compelling reason for online B2B customers to purchase onsite content.

Approach

After conducting research aimed at thoroughly understanding II’s newsletter offerings and subscriber base, we delivered a core set of templates for each newsletter and related content, such as e-mail communications, marketing collateral, mobile web, and personalized portal pages. Ours is a visually and intellectually engaging design that encourages users to return to the websites more often and to stay longer. Using a consistent layout across all newsletter offerings, and an identifying color scheme for each product, our designs promote brand uniformity and the cross-selling of existing titles.

TECHNOLOGY STACK

This website was built using HTML, jQuery, and CSS3 to enhance the front-end user interface and overall usability. jQuery Mobile was also used to develop a mobile version of the website.

Results

With our redesign, Loewy created a distinctive branding system for the family of newsletters. In addition, we have satisfied subscribers’ need to receive content through a variety of digital delivery methods and formats, and we have improved content navigation via market-driven content categories and a sophisticated taxonomy–all with the goal of retaining existing subscribers and increasing market share in the segments being served.
