A leader in its field, ICR provides a full gamut of financial communications services, from investor relations to bankruptcy management. The New York–based company serves clients in an array of industries, including education, healthcare, insurance, and technology, providing counsel on and execution of corporate and crisis communications, mergers and acquisitions, IPOs, business restructuring, and much more. Founded in 1998, ICR employs a team of experts in the financial arena, many of whom have held senior-level positions on Wall Street. ICR XChange, one of the largest annual investment conferences, draws more than 150 public and private companies and 1,500-plus attendees.

Challenge

ICR’s website and brand needed an overhaul. The site failed to capture the brand’s sophistication. Neither did it convey the wealth of experience held by ICR’s team, which consists of sector-specific professionals who have been in the trenches with their clients. That’s why ICR possesses a profound understanding of customer challenges and expectations. Given ICR’s greatest asset–its people–we needed to humanize the team, to somehow capture its warmth and professionalism online.

Approach

After interviewing ICR executives and customers, we made recommendations about reinventing the company’s brand—its website, taglines, logos, and overall “persona.” With a new content strategy in hand and an enhanced user experience in mind, we recreated the ICR site from the inside out. Today, it features a bold, authoritative design that captures the essence of the company as a savvy, yet approachable, team of experts. Videos and around-the-office photography speak to staffers’ expertise while reinforcing their approachability. In addition, we developed a new website and marketing materials for ICR XChange and provided the company with branding guidelines aimed at achieving continuity across all marketing media.
